Turn Fear Into Trust | The Lord Is Always Watching Over You

Enjoy this devotional, encouraging message, prayer, and journal prompts on Psalm 121.

Scripture Reading:

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
    He who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    He will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.

Encouragement:

Trust in the Lord, creator of all, the sovereign one. A path has been set before you, and God will be your steadiness through it all. Your foot shall not be moved, no matter the tribulations and joy you endure. Not a moment will pass without the Lord watching over you. He knows all and will protect you all the day long, day and night, in and out. His love will not waver for it is unconditional. While you meditate on His word, hear Him say:

"So do not fear for I am with you do not be dismayed for I am your God I will strengthen you and help you I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

- Isaiah 41:10

Prayer

Use this prayer as a template, adapting it to what's within your own heart.

Lord,

Thank you for who you are and what you did on the cross to save me from my sins. Thank you for keeping me and protecting me from now to forever more. I pray you turn my fear into faith and trust scripture tells me that you were always guiding me, so help me see and feel your presence as you watch over me day and night.

In Jesus' name,

 Amen

  1. Is there anything that's worrying you or causing anxiety to stir within you?
  2. Where are you not trusting the Lord? What do you need to surrender to him
  3. As you surrender the burdens that you were not meant to carry, fill that with a grateful heart as you consider, how have you seen God's sovereignty and mighty hands work recently in your life?

As you go throughout your week, take time to memorize these key verses, so God's word will be written on your heart.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.
